Lockbook is an open-source notebook for Markdown notes and drawings, encrypted on your device and shared only by invitation.
Notes are .md files and drawings are .svg files, kept in ordinary folders. Open them in any other app and you'll find nothing missing.
What's inside
code. The toolbar knows every style so you don't have to.fzf, edit them with vim, and schedule backups with cron. The Lockbook CLI fits right into your favorite chain of piped-together Unix commands: https://snapcraft.io/lockbookPrivate by design
Your notes are encrypted on your device, so no one else can read them, not even us. Sign up with just a username and Lockbook generates your account key. Keep it secret and don't lose it: anyone with the key can read your notes, and anyone without it can't. We never ask for an email, a phone number, or a name.
Open source
You don't have to trust us. Lockbook's code is public and has been since 2020. Check our work or trust the people who have: https://github.com/lockbook/lockbook
Free to start
The free tier includes every feature and holds years of plain notes. For room to add images and PDFs, upgrade to premium for $2.99 a month.
We built Lockbook for everyday use because we use Lockbook every day. In our Discord community you can ask us anything or just see what people are saying: https://discord.gg/lockbook

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.
Snaps are discoverable and installable from the Snap Store, an app store with an audience of millions.
Snap is available for CentOS 7.6+, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.6+, from the Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) repository. The EPEL repository can be added to your system with the following command:
sudo yum install epel-release
Snap can now be installed as follows:
sudo yum install snapd
Once installed, the systemd unit that manages the main snap communication socket needs to be enabled:
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.socket
To enable classic snap support, enter the following to create a symbolic link between /var/lib/snapd/snap and /snap:
sudo ln -s /var/lib/snapd/snap /snap
Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.
To install Lockbook, simply use the following command:
sudo snap install lockbook-desktop
Browse and find snaps from the convenience of your desktop using the snap store snap.
