The pcsc-lite daemon in a snap
This snap ships support for all acsccid and ccid readers along with the pcsc-lite daemon, teh pcsc-scan tool and the scriptor commandline too to read/write to smartcards
The snap also provides a content interface for other snaps to consume the pcscd socket.
If you have extrarodinary setup rquirements you can place a configuration file into /var/snap/pcsc-daemon/common/reader.conf.d using the documented format.
Some readers will require you to blacklist the pn533_usb module, to do this run
echo pn533_usb | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-pn533.conf
and reboot your system.

sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
You will also need to reboot your device:
sudo reboot
After this, install the snapd snap in order to get the latest snapd:
sudo snap install snapd
To install pcsc-daemon, simply use the following command:
sudo snap install pcsc-daemon
