Kaffelogic Studio

Please read installation instructions below...

Kaffelogic Studio allows you to view logs, edit profiles, and manage firmware updates for Kaffelogic roasters.

Installation

Install using the following two command lines

$ sudo snap install kaffelogic-studio

$ sudo sh /snap/kaffelogic-studio/current/opt/kaffelogic-studio/ubuntu-snap-postinstall.sh

The second of these command lines is the post-install script. The post-install script is necessary, even when you install kaffelogic-studio using the GUI. It does three things:

  1. It grants permission to kaffelogic-studio to access WiFi, removable-media, and USB ports.
  2. It initialises mime types for kaffelogic-studio profile (.kpro) and log (.klog) files.
  3. It joins the current user to the dialout group to allow access to USB serial connections.

Membership of the dialout group is necessary if you have a type-C USB roaster and wish to connect with a cable. If the current user is newly joined to the dialout group, you may need to log out and log in again before you can connect to your roaster.
