ONVIF IP camera simulator with PTZ, RTSP and a 3D world in the browser

OnvifSim is an ONVIF IP camera simulator. It gives you virtual network cameras, fixed and PTZ, that behave like real hardware: every camera answers WS-Discovery and ONVIF on its own port (Device, Media, Media2, PTZ, Imaging), streams RTSP (Motion JPEG and H.264) and takes PTZ commands, AbsoluteMove included. Point ONVIF Device Manager, an NVR or your own client at it, no cameras needed.

The cameras look at a virtual landscape (terrain, trees, houses, roads, people walking their routes) that you edit in the browser, so a PTZ camera really turns and people walk from one camera's view into the next.

The snap runs as a service. Open the editor from the OnvifSim entry in the applications menu, or at http://localhost:8080/, to build the world and place cameras; they appear on ports 8001 and up, RTSP on 8554. The world is kept in /var/snap/onvifsim/common/world.json.

OnvifSim is MIT. The bundled ffmpeg (for the H.264 streams) is a GPL build from BtbN/FFmpeg-Builds. Source and issues: https://github.com/treealarm/OnvifSim
