Install latest/beta of owncast

Ubuntu 16.04 or later?

Make sure snap support is enabled in your Desktop store.

Install using the command line

sudo snap install owncast --beta

Don't have snapd? Get set up for snaps.

owncast is only available on the unstable beta channel. It could break and change often.

First run

  • To run, type owncast in your terminal
  • Begin a quick test of the default setup
  • User may login as admin at http://localhost:8080/admin (or whatever IP address the server has)
