The classic paint program on the GNOME desktop
Paint9X brings back the look and feel of the classic Windows 98 paint program on the GNOME desktop.
Under the classic surface there are modern extras that kids and grown-ups will love:
- Fun Colors: rainbow, fire, ocean, neon and sunset paints that change colour as you draw, plus candy stripes, polka dots, stars, hearts, confetti and gold glitter patterns
- Stickers: a Sticker Book with classic pixel-art stickers, hundreds of colour emoji, and your own stickers cut out of your pictures
- Symmetry: mirror, four-way, radial and kaleidoscope drawing
- Replay: watch how your picture was drawn and share it as an animated GIF
- Magic Wand selection, recolouring and transparent cut-outs
- Opacity for every tool, adjustable brush, pencil and eraser sizes, fill tolerance and gradient fills
- History window to jump back to any step, and autosave with crash recovery
And everything you remember from the original:
- Free-form and rectangular selections: move, copy, smear, stretch, transparent mode
- Pencil, brush, airbrush, eraser and colour eraser, fill, pick colour, magnifier and text
- Line, curve, rectangle, polygon, ellipse and rounded rectangle with outline and fill styles
- Flip/rotate, stretch/skew, invert colours, attributes, zoom with grid and thumbnail, view bitmap
- Edit colours (with hex input), custom palettes, load and save .pal files
- Opens and saves PNG, BMP, JPEG and TIFF; copy and paste with other apps; print and print preview
- Set your picture as the desktop wallpaper, tiled or centred
