Install latest/edge of RTMP Video Streamer

Ubuntu 16.04 or later?

Make sure snap support is enabled in your Desktop store.


Install using the command line

sudo snap install rtmp-video-streamer --edge

Don't have snapd? Get set up for snaps.

RTMP Video Streamer is only available on the unstable edge channel. It could break and change often.

Intended to help stream your IP Cam to RTMP Server.
Note: only cams with h264 codec are supported at the moment

Getting started

  1. [RaspberryPi + Raspbian/Raspberry Pi OS] Update snapd to the latest available version according to https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/installing-snap-on-debian
  2. Install snap: sudo snap install rtmp-video-streamer --edge
  3. Open config file for edit: sudoedit /var/snap/rtmp-video-streamer/common/rtmp-streamer.conf
  4. Replace source value with desired RTSP URL
  5. Replace target value with target RTMP server URL
  6. Restart snap: sudo snap restart rtmp-video-streamer
