SecureBit Chat connects two people directly. There are no accounts, and no server that holds messages: text, files, voice notes and calls are encrypted on the device they leave and decrypted only on the device they reach.
Two people confirm they are talking to each other by comparing a short safety code out loud — the step that makes an intercepted connection detectable rather than merely unlikely.
Group chats and group calls work the same way. A group call is not a conference on someone else's machine: it is a separate encrypted call to each other member, over the connection you already built and already verified.
The desktop client interoperates with the web client at securebit.chat.
