Install latest/stable of xwiki

Ubuntu 16.04 or later?

Make sure snap support is enabled in your Desktop store.


Install using the command line

sudo snap install xwiki

Don't have snapd? Get set up for snaps.

This is an experimental demo package of XWiki and is not currently a production ready recommendation. See https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Download/ for the various official packages of XWiki.

XWiki is a free wiki software platform written in Java with a design emphasis on extensibility.

XWiki is an easily installed wiki and collaboration platform with features such as WYSIWYG editing, OpenOffice-based document import/export, semantic annotations and tagging, and advanced permissions management.

XWiki is designed to help teams collaborate more efficiently. It runs in a Java Servlet container such as Tomcat. The current snap package is based on Jetty.

To run xwiki after installation : sudo xwiki.start

After starting the snap, XWiki will be visible in the browser on the following link:

http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/view/Main/

To stop xwiki: sudo xwiki.stop
