Yet Another Text-based TODO App

yatta - Yet Another Text-based TODO App. Or probably yatta, Japanese for "did it!"

yatta is a visual TODO app that aims to do one thing in a simple way: let's you keep your tasks in one place. It also keeps every task as a plain markdown file with YAML frontmatter in a folder you own, so your text editor, your git history and any AI agent can all read and write your tasks without going through an API.

Quick add parses what you type: "Send the report tomorrow !high #work" becomes a task with a deadline, a priority and a tag. Tasks can be viewed as a list or as a kanban board, grouped by tag, priority or deadline, and imported in bulk one task per line. The vault folder is watched, so edits made in another editor - or by an agent - show up immediately.

On first run yatta asks where you would like your tasks kept, and creates nothing until you have chosen.
