Install latest/stable of FreeMat
Ubuntu 16.04 or later?
Make sure snap support is enabled in your Desktop store.
Install using the command line
sudo snap install freemat-unofficial
Don't have snapd? Get set up for snaps.
FreeMat is a free environment for rapid engineering and scientific prototyping and data processing. It is similar to commercial systems such as MATLAB from Mathworks, and IDL from Research Systems, but is Open Source. FreeMat is available under the GPL license.
Note: this application is not maintained anymore.
It is advised to set FreeMat toolbox location after each application startup:
rootpath('/usr/share/freemat/toolbox')
